Please click on the link below for important information about our upcoming schedule! Also, don't forget to attend our pancake breakfast and flea market on Saturday Aug. 27th from 8am-1pm at the Nimishillen Grange!
Just to get us started, here are a couple links to some yoga videos. If you click the button, you will be directed to a playlist focusing on tutorials for a variety of poses. The first video is day one of a yoga challenge and incorporates a lot of the basic poses we tried to accomplish during band camp. The second video listed below focuses on some of the new and more challenging poses we are trying to learn during rehearsals. Take your time following along with the video and don't feel obligated to go at Erin's speed. If you feel more comfortable going at a slower or faster pace, go for it! I also highly recommend practicing the videos and poses in front of a large mirror so you can establish more body awareness and determine what are your bad habits (e.g., do you let your shoulders go up to your ears or are your hips incorrectly facing to the left or right instead of being square?). Be on the lookout for future yoga posts! Dear Parents,
On Thursday August 11th we will be having our band preview and tailgate. This is a nice evening as we all share food, fellowship, and of course good music! Please bring your family, lawn chairs, folding tables, table service, and food to share (casseroles, salads, desserts, sandwiches, etc.). We ask that you bring enough food that would feed your family. The Band Boosters will provide orange drink from McDonalds, but feel free to bring anything else you would like. We will be eating at 6:00 P.M. followed by the introduction and performance of the 2016-2017 L.H.S. Marching Band. Cars should enter the football stadium through the gate on Silver Street. This year we plan to set up the food in the grassy area next to the visitor’s locker room to provide for more parking behind the visitor bleachers. If you have an extra table to bring for food set up, please bring it to ensure that we have enough. For the band performance, please sit in the home stands between the 40 yd. lines. The band will begin performing around 7:00 P.M. Band members: Please wear your summer uniform. (band shorts, band t shirt, white crew socks) You may wear comfortable tennis shoes and sunglasses if you wish. The band members are excited to share what they have learned so far this season. We hope to see everyone there! |
