Please see the link below for details about our band preview and tailgate on Thursday August 15th, 2019.
Band officially begins on Monday July 22 in the HS band room. Below are a few things to think about to ensure a great start and a fun week!
We rehearse from 8am-noon Monday-Friday. This means that you are in your seat with your instrument and rehearsal materials by 8am.
Bring water in a water bottle labeled with your name. We do not provide water at our school rehearsals, but we do at band camp. You are permitted to have water at your seat in the band room and on the sidelines when we are outside. Although we will have plenty of scheduled water breaks, you are permitted to get a drink anytime. However, you are not allowed to share water with others. You must bring your own.
Dress comfortably. This means athletic clothing that is cool and allows you to move freely. Jeans and long pants are not permitted. You must wear a comfortable pair of tennis shoes (with socks). Other footwear is not permitted. You are encouraged to wear hats and sunglasses.
Eat breakfast. Although we have a lot of fun and we do rehearse inside for part of the day, we will be outside quite a bit. This activity may be the most strenuous thing many of you have done at this point...please use common sense and don't come to band on an empty stomach.
Bring your medical forms on Monday. This is VERY important. Forms were mailed home at the end of the school year and they can be printed using the link below.
Come to rehearsal the first week with an open mind and be excited! You are about to embark on an amazing season and school year...and by the end of the first week you are likely to have 160 new friends. How cool is that?
A few other reminders about week one...
Monday night (7/22) is a band booster meeting at 7pm in the high school band room. Please attend! Parent involvement is crucial to our success as a group. Don't feel shy or intimidated. The band boosters have tons of fun together supporting our band students.
All students must be fitted for a uniform. Dates are below. All fittings are between 6:30-8:00pm in the band room. BAND FEES SHOULD BE PAID AT THE FITTING.
Tuesday 7/23 Seniors and Juniors
Wednesday 7/24 Sophomores
Friday 7/26 Freshman
Band Camp at Bethany College, WV is from Sunday July 28-Friday August 2. This information was also mailed home at the end of the school year, but you may also view it below.

See you soon!
The Louisville School District is hosting an event to celebrate the recent state championship won by our Lady Leps softball team. The celebration will be held in the Louisville High School gym on Monday June 17th beginning at 6:00pm.
The band (including incoming freshman!) has been asked to be a part of the event, similar to what we do for our pep rallies. Although this is not a mandatory performance, I am hoping that we would have many students able to attend and perform for this special event. Report time will be 5:00pm. Please dress in Louisville spirit wear. The celebration should last approx. 1 hour.
Color guard and recent graduating seniors...please come!!!
The Canton Repository and Big Time Sports will be on hand to cover the event, along with our Superintendent and Mayor Fallot.
Please use the link below to respond about the event. Thank you!!!
I hope that everyone had a nice Mother's Day. We are looking forward to the last few weeks of the school year and wish our graduating seniors well as they finish up their time at LHS in the coming days.
I have attached the itinerary for graduation to be held on Thursday, May 23rd at the Canton Civic Center. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you to everyone who attended the band banquet last week. What a nice time we had celebrating the many successes of our band students!
Congratulations to our 8th grade band for earning a Superior rating at their Large Group performance on Friday night at Hoover HS. All of our large ensembles that participate in adjudicated events received Superior ratings this year!!! The marching band earned a I at State Finals, the Symphonic and Concert bands both earned I's at their Large Group contest, and now the 8th grade band earned a I at their performance. What an accomplishment! That is truly something to be proud of.
Please remember that Monday night is our next Dining for Disney event at BW3 in Alliance. See the attachment for details.
Speaking of Disney...remember that everyone must pay their $150.00 deposit for the trip by the last day of school on May 30. Money can be brought into the band office, or may be taken to Main Street Tours.
Thanks-have a great week!
